More often than not I always get invited to a party,

Weather would it be a small talk to a grand birthday ball, it's nice and all.

But sadly to disappoint them, I don't feel anything beyond friendship for all of them. All besides a certain hare called 'Harry'.

Normal POV

A table with tea and pastries are prepared in front of the courtyard of the summer mansion. The air is clean, crisp and fresh and the water is clear; it's a perfect day for a picnic outside. And a certain ursan is dressing up for an occasion, seems to have a bit of trouble when it comes to these things.

"Woah!" as a bear-like creature attempts to fit a pair of trousers as he rushes around the room to get dressed for the party. "Calm down!" a hare is chasing after him, already dressed up as he tries to pin the cub to the ground.

*THUD*

There were grunts of pain as they fell to the ground. "There! All done and you look like a prince~" as the hare pulls up the other's brown pants up to compliment the hazel brown fur. "I am not one. You are!" as the bear puts on his usual red vest to compliment his white shirt replies.

"Ok. But at least you look like one." as the hare pats the bear at the back. "Oh well, being a royal does have its perks." And then the prince smiles daftly at the bear, then shakes his head quickly.

"Better get goin' your late." Then the ursine left the room and ran to the exit of the mansion. The bear sees the exit and the table in where he was supposed to meet the tiger that has invited him to tea the day before. When he got there he sees a human butler with the typical black suit and a noble's daughter dressed in an elegant blue dress sits across the table.

"You must be Sir Rum. Please take a seat." As the bear took his seat the person at the other side of the table smiled and told him to help himself with the pastries.

"Thanks." Then the bear took a chocolate cupcake and bit it.

"Wow! That tasted so good!" then the tigress smiles and spoke up.

"Well, I was hoping that we'll get to know about each other more. May I ask, how did you end up with the royal family of Eldeow?"

Then the bear explained and told the story about how Nightmares took out his village, leaving the noble in shock and apologized.

"It's ok. So how about you?"

Catheryne now told Rum about her family being a part of Calsertia City's oldest noble lineage that have revolutionized trade with goods and methods of managing goods. And then the small talk turned into typical stories about their experiences with others.

"Yesterday me and Prince Harry got lost." As the bear told the story to the noble, ignoring every detail, merely staring at his handsome face that has been covered in a dark shade of brown and cream at the bottom half of his muzzle. Brown ambers that hypnotize a savage beast and a smile that could make even sunshine put to shame.

The bear called out from the tiger fur's daze. "Are you ok?" then the feline just smiles.

"Never been better! Thanks for coming." Both children gave their good byes as the bear walks back towards his room.

"I guess me and Rum are not meant to be." The tigress thought to herself with a smile.

"So how's your time with Cathy?" a pink wearing hare approaches the bear.

"All right. By the way where is everyone?" then he sees two boys at the end of the hall, chatting.

Rum's POV

I see the lion and hare at the end of the hall and we approached them.

"Hey! No way, Rum practically got all the girls oogling for him!" the lion replies to the hare. "Yup and that's not all. He gets to always have dessert thanks to those fancy tea parties and gatherings, making him look like a Boaran!" then I lifted the lion and hare off the ground with ease as I am at least a foot and a half taller than both of them.

"SO! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKIN' ABOUT?" I grinned baring my teeth and gave them a sharp stare at both of them, they look like they are going to faint at any moment. Practically sweating bullets and one move then they could just turn all of their fur white.

"U-ummm nothing Rum, we were talking about the girls at our class. Right Ku-uya?" then the lion spoke up "Y-yeah girls." Then I closed in the distance between us three. "Make fun about my belly again and that's where you two are going. Am I clear?" I am surely enjoying this, might as well make the most of it.

"Y-yes Aurum!" both of them replied as I started to laugh hysterically. "Why are you laughing!?!" both of them yelled at me. "You should see your faces! I was just kiddin'" then I slowly placed them to the ground.

"RUM! DON'T SCARE US LIKE THAT!" then they both punched me at my arms, thanks to them forcing me to lift things and people my arms started to develop. I also haven't notice them either until now. Of course being an Ursan does have to do with it also. But that hurts, and I guess I deserved that.

I patted my belly as I settle down.

"Well, should we play tag or hide and seek?"

"Hide and seek!" the other three replied. "Can I join?" as I see Cathy walk along the hall.

I smiled and invited her.

"OK!!" I picked up a die and since we are 5 there is a low chance that the die will land at 6.

"Pick a number."

Everyone told me their numbers.

Harry at 1, Ku-uya at 2, the girls Cathy and Reyna at 3 and 4 respectively and I took 5.

"Rolling." Then the die shows us 2.

"Drats!" the lion grumbled. Then turned his head against the wall, as we scrambled around the mansion.

I ran to the cellar and I was surprised to see someone there. "Harry. I guess I'll find another spot then." I said as I was about to slide down the ladder. "Wait." I heard the hare halted me.

"Why won't you stay here?" I nodded and went back to his side.

"So, I see you have enjoyed the picnic I assume." And I replied that it was great. We chatted up a storm until she had to dismiss me to tend to her other matters. "You seem to have enjoyed that one." the hare is in a defeated tone.

I cached on and he just smiles. "Harry, I actually prefer you over any invitation, so cheer up alright?" then I saw a gleam in his eyes that makes me giddy and in a happy note.

"Thanks." Then I heard footsteps.

"Snap. Hide!" I whispered as we went between two boxes covered with a blanket and hid there. The gap had insufficient room and we ended up face to face with each other, we are blushing I assume based on how embarrassing it must be.

I hear footsteps and we held our breath as we continue to hope that the lion does not find us.

"Snap! Where could they be! This mansion is huge." Then I heard footsteps from the ladder as the lion goes to search for the others. *Hah* we exhaled deeply as we exited the gap.

"That's too close for comfort." I said, "Yeah." Then we sat back down, I told him about me training for the "Eldeow Championship" with Jalkaw and I asked him if he wants to join us.

"Yeah, why not. We are going to be adventurers after all so might as well learn how to fight." I nodded and mentioned to him about something.

"By the way, I will be also joining for the royal guard." Then I heard the hare said "Are you serious!?" in a surprised tone. "Yup, and I will be training along with the current captain; Kazel. He asked me if I want to be part of his team as he saw us with potential and I accepted."

"Wow! That's great news, Congrats Bro!" then I felt arms surrounding me. Harry hugged me and I noticed that his little tail wagged like a lupian pup. "Thanks. And he invited you to train with us, he said himself that for royalty, you are not too shabby."

I am met with a pout from the prince. "I'll show him shabby" seeing fire burn in his eyes.

"Well then, wanna head to training with me when we get back?" "You bet!"

I felt comfortable in this hare's presence. He will be happy for you if you are happy, and I want him to feel the same happiness I feel too. This is why I want to be with him at all times. To protect him and be with him for the good and the bad.

A few good hours later they still were not able to find us until I heard a set of footprints head for us. "Oh looks like we have been in here for too long." Then we are met with two felines and a lagomorph that seems to have spent a looking time looking for us.

"YOU HAVE BEEN HERE THE ENTIRE TIME! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO HIDE FROM ME UNLESS." The lion seems to have the idea on how we avoided him. "I-it's not what you think!" then the lion just grins an all knowing smirk.

"Too bad you are turning down..." then the hare beside me just spoke up. "Oh! It's time for dinner, want to join us Cathy?" he offered to the feline.

"Sure" and we walked our way to the hall.

After Dinner...

The moon is full in our veranda window. The window is aimed to the north so we would see the sunrise and sunset. We lied down in our beds.

"I have one question Harry?"

"What is it?" asked the hare. "What did Ku-uya mean when he said "Turning Down" then the hare explained about turning down people and I felt kinda bad for them. "I need to apologize."

"No need to." The hare comforted me. "If you do not have feelings for the other it's ok. Alrght?" and I nodded, smiling while staring at the ceiling.

"G' night" then I closed the lights...

Nine years later...

The stadium was occupied and packed.

Crowds cheering as the famous defending champions of the competition, the captain of the guard. Who is an ursan named Rum and the prince of Eldeow and the battlefield himself Harry fought against a pair of Tigans. The famous Illuos twins, there is one with long flowing black hair and the other has a pony tail to follow his movements.

The striped cats continue to trade blows with me, deflecting all those vicious swipes as the twins continue their assault. Then there were arrows that are flying towards the two striped cats.

*Fwop* the bolts missed the targets. "Sis! Watch the hare!" and the tigress readies her claws for the next attack. "Time for a nap!" then I saw the hare grin. He gave the feline a roundhouse kick right at her face as I kicked the other high up to the ground.

"Let's end it." And we hit the back of the head of the felines, knocking them out cold. "The winner is Rum and Harry!" the crowd yelled as we raised our arms up.

"*Whew* We did it Rum!" then I hugged him. "Yeah! Great shooting out there." And the hare said thanks with a blush, saying that I also helped the team. "By the way!" as he strips off his sweaty shirt.

"I hope we can still be together after all we've been through," "A promise is a promise!" then I am just in my underwear and I blushed slightly as I see the hare's toned body. Perfect abs and pecs, sizable arms and finally firm thighs and cheeks that would want me to maul him in bed.

Cream white occupied his abdomen and his muzzle and everything else is bright brown. We have been doing this for years and yet I can't get used to it. "I'll go first" and I rushed to the shower hoping not to make this situation any more awkward as it is.

"Thank goodness. I am starting to pitch a tent if I stayed here a bit longer." We have been the reigning champs for nine years straight. Me and Harry have finally talked about our promise day. And it's today, sure I'll miss home but I will miss my beautiful adoptive sister; Reyna and my friends from the royal guard.

I continue to whistle a tune as I heard another set of footsteps nearby. And I know that it's Harry.

"Hey bro! Can you pass me some soap?" then I gave him my bar as he continues to wash himself. I decided to dry up and wait for him outside, daydreaming about the prince while I'm at it.

"I wonder if he likes me more than a brother." I stare emptily at the sky, hoping that'll give me an idea. "I'm here." Then I see the hare. His black hair is slightly haggard of all the washing and wiping he has done.

"Oh! We better go and start packing. Reyna wants to see us before we go." And we made our way to the castle. Jalkaw is right in front of us, "Oh hello." As he is beside the built ox. The ex-captain Kazel, who now sports a pepper and salt beard and stache approached us.

"Teachers, what do we owe this pleasure to congratulating us." Then I bowed and he bowed back. "You're too kind." Then the ox bought Harry a gift, proud of his student. Then the hare saw a gold and bronze bracer that has a few rounded blue jewels decorating it.

The hare smiles as he wore the bracer on his left wrist, hearing a click that he wore it right. "I'll be a long time before we'll see you again!" and both of them came to us and we are surprised at the surprise hug. We gladly returned the gesture.

"Don't worry! We will visit some time. I promise." Then they said their goodbyes leaving us to go to our rooms. "Ok! Better get everything. Rook'll inform you when I'm ready."

I am met with a nod and we went inside our rooms.

I packed a few things; my clothing, a painting of me, Harry, Reyna, Ku-uya and Cathy during that trip. My fiddle and finally the Earthbreakers, I carefully stuffed them inside my bag as the time goes by.

"Rook." And I see the ursan spirit emerge. "OK." Then he disappeared.

There will obviously be a victory party. But unknowing to most of them; it is also a farewell party. The only ones that knows of our departure is the queen, our teachers: Jalkaw and Kazel, Ku-uya, Reyna and Cathy.

As we entered the dining hall, we were greeted by applauses and congratulations. We thanked them and eventually the party started. I was greeted by a lot and I mean a lot of princesses and female nobles about how wonderful I looked as I fought.

After I am through with all of them, I found myself in a group of my friends and loved ones. Then Ku-uya spoke up.

"So Rum. How're the ladies." Then he gives me a nudge and a smug grin. He seems to know about my sexuality, if any of the hints he has given me about his observations when I am around Harry. Then yes, he knows I have a crush on the prince.

Ironically, no matter where I go, I seem to make women swoon over me. I may be clueless but Ku-uya knows and tells me when it's necessary.

"They're nice. Better get on the hunt." And he gives me a pat on the back.

"Some other day, but as of now. I rather would spend as much time with you two as possible." I felt myself and Harry smiling when I hear that. "And speaking of travelling." And I received a scroll.

"Me and Reyna actually wanted you to have this. It's a map of Falnure." I quickly saw Reyna blush slightly when I said my thanks.

"By any chance, are you two dating?" I asked both of them. They are forming a bright color of red that I am too familiar with.

"N-no Rummy! There is no way that I am going to swoon over this...." Then she blurted out "CHEATER!!!" then the lion, who now has a little mane dropped his jaw as he stares at my sister. "Yeah! I don't even want to date a tom!" then despite her stature. She managed to punch the lion, who was clearly a foot taller and more built than her to fly across the room.

"I AM NOT A TOM!" then Harry calmed the pink wearing hare down. I chuckled as I see my tigran friend Cathy approach us. "Oh Cathy!" I hugged the tiger and she hugged back.

"Rum! Congrat's about today's events." And I asked her how's the business. And she replied that the family seems to have gained more rep and more trading goods to offer across Felnure.

"Oh Harry! Congrats." She congratulated Harry. And she turns to Reyna who shrieks and the two girls meet. "Long time no see sister! How are you!?" and the two played catch up for a while.

I came to the lion who seems to have lived through that punch that could shatter brick. And Harry followed suit as the lion came to.

"Uhhhh" the lion groaned.

"I'm alive at least." Then the three of us laughed.

Later that evening...

A group of people are gathered at the forest.

A pair of female hares, one older than the other.

There are two leoans; The prince Ku-uya and the wizard Jalkaw.

A tigress and an ox-man was beside them.

Then we approached the group.

"Hi guys." I said then everyone just rushes to us and gave us a hug.

"We'll miss you." Everyone started to shed tears.

"Hey don't cry! I promise that we'll visit from time to time. I promise."

"Son." And Harry stepped forward to Queen Fera and they gave each other a tender hug. "Promise me that you will live your dream." And he nods as he continues to hug the queen.

"Better get goin'" the Ox seems to try and hold back his tears as he is sniffling a storm.

"Ok master!" and we set off.

"Finally huh?" Harry looks at me.

"Yeah. We are travelling together."

The moon was full and the stars are bright as we walk towards the secret passage towards the outside world.

Then we now are walking. Side by side in a dirt road heading for our next destination; The city of Wenbvel. Where we will become adventurers doing quests while we explore the world.

A few hours later...

I noticed the sky is getting brighter.

"Hey look at this Harry."

Then we saw the city of Wenbvel. The city being shone with the rising sun behind it. Making the towers gleam like gem towers as birds started to fly into the morning sky.

I turned to Harry and gave him a smile. He smiled back and said "Thanks, and now let's explore the world."

"Thanks for what?" and the hare ran to the city. "Wait up! What do you mean thanks!?" and we ran towards the city as the sun rises to start the day.

Harry POV

"Thanks for everything." I murmured to myself.
