A dragon on a mission, Ryan finds himself lost in the dark woods... But, luckily for him, he's found by the mysterious Devos! However, the contents of Devos's belly leads Ryan to find out a dark truth...

This is a small series, with great ideas provided by purplelove, the owner of Ryan! Expect this series to get quite dark.

It was the dead of night. Ryan looked around him nervously, his vision limited. Seeing nothing but darkness and the outlines of trees close to him, he looked down at his fluffy, blue forelegs, keeping his head close to the ground. He softly padded, not wanting to make a noise.

Ryan, a furred feral dragon, did not come to this place alone. These forests were never travelled alone! His clan told stories of danger that lurked in this place, of people who journeyed into this place and never returned. When he was asked to send an urgent message to the neighboring clan, he only had one option- the direct path, taking him through this maligned place.

He was not a foolish dragon. He asked his friends to accompany him. After some cajoling, he enlisted two fellow dragons: Narste, a green, and Eostre, another blue. At the height of day, they entered the border of the forest, hoping the best.

The best did not happen. It was dark now, and Ryan was alone. He knew something was out there. Earlier, it had tried to strike, sending the group running. It scattered them, separated them. Ryan had been searching for hours, but to no avail. And now it was night...

Ryan silently sighed. He was lost, that was sure. But he had to keep going, he thought; sleeping in this place was simply too dangerous. Although it was very tempting; it was becoming increasingly obvious that the exit could only be found by the light of day. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to wait here until morning, Ryan thought, as he entered a small clearing. His eyes drooped at the thought...

But then he was snapped to attention, with the sound of distant crunching. The forest was an eerily silent place, lacking a bird nor frog making noise, so this sound... This sound concerned Ryan. He stifled a gasp and looked around in concern.

Of course, he could see nothing in the insurmountable darkness. Had he finally found one of his friends? Or was it... Ryan's eyes went wide at the thought. Was it someone, or something, else?

Ryan took a halting step towards the noise. Slinking slowly, he was going to find out what it was. But before he could assess the threat, he heard more rustling... And a voice.

"You poor thing. Are you lost?"

At those words, Ryan stumbled backwards. That was not a voice he recognized, not at all. But it could very well lead to the way out of here... Whoever this was. Stammeringly, Ryan replied.

"I... Uh... Yes?"

"Well, I'm glad I found you, then."

With another rustle, a shadowy, feral figure padded out into the dim view Ryan had. This was a fellow dragon, a huge dragon, much taller than him. He looked monochrome, almost black in the darkness. The interloper's eyes, green and glowing, tracked Ryan as he walked. Ryan quickly got up, still on guard.

The dragon smiled as he talked. "You're not from this place, are you?" Ryan tried to make himself relax; this dragon seemed friendly, in a manner. "N... No, I'm not." he replied.

"I thought as such." The unknown dragon let out a low chuckle. "I am Devos, caretaker of the Dark Path." He circled Ryan as he spoke. At that time, Ryan got a better view of Devos's side. The grey dragon's gut was quite distended; it was obvious he had his fill of this land. It swayed slowly when he walked. In fact, there looked like there were some odd bulges he couldn't quite make out...

Ryan was snapped back to attention by Devos's words. "So, how did you end up in this place? Not many come here these days."

"Well, it's very important! I have something to deliver!"

"A message?"

"Yeah! A message to the other side of the Path."

"I see. But you are lost, no?"

"Yeah... It's dark, and I can't see well..." Ryan looked around him.

Devos curled his tail in a large circle, partially encircling Ryan. "Allow me to guide you, then." Ryan looked closer at Devos's gut while he spoke. Were those odd bulges moving? Or was that just a trick of the light?

Ryan nodded sheepishly. "Thank you..." he says.

"It is no issue for me. Please, follow me." Devos started to pad off into the darkness the way he came. Ryan quickly followed, making sure to keep up with the larger dragon's pace. While they walked, Ryan couldn't help but notice the movement of Devos's stomach again. He decided to speak up.

"It... It seems you eat well here..." Ryan said, giggling nervously.

"Oh, I do." Devos replied assertively. "You know, that's what they said about me, too..."

Ryan stopped. "Who?"

"Ah, nevermind." Devos chuckled, but didn't stop for the smaller dragon. Ryan rushed back up to pace; he couldn't afford to lose Devos now.

After that, much of their journey was done in silence. Ryan was still nervous, but had good reason to trust this dragon. Who else could possibly help him in this dark place? Eventually, however, Devos made a sudden stop, making Ryan stumble.

"You know, I forgot to ask..." Devos said, turning slowly to face Ryan, "It must have been a long journey here. Are you tired? Hungry?"

At those words, a low growl emanated from Ryan's stomach. Ryan was always the well-fed dragon, taking his fair share to eat; but now, in this forest, he hadn't had a meal for a while. "Hmm..." Ryan said, looking down at his gut, "I could go for something to eat..."

Devos gave a devilish grin, quite unlike his previous gentle nature. "Well, allow me to get you something." And with that statement, he began to heave.

Ryan stood there, frozen in confusion, as Devos began convulsing. With rhythmic heaves, a bulge travelled up Devos's throat, distending his neck considerably. Slowly, he retched, getting the bulge up into his mouth. Ryan stood in puzzlement. Did Devos think he'd eat something he's already eaten?

Devos then, with one last heave, expel the bulge out of his jaws. A slimy ball, covered in saliva, plopped out onto the ground. Ryan took a step back, unsure of how to respond. "Well, uhh, thanks, but..."

Ryan kept his eyes locked on the expelled lump. It was bluish in color, which got his attention. What was the thing Devos ate...

With a sudden jolt, the lump groaned and wriggled on the ground. The existence of limbs became more apparent to Ryan, as he suddenly recognized that form. It was Narste, his friend!

The green dragon was far gone. Apart from being covered in Devos's spittle, he had been digesting for a long while. Huge patches of his scales were gone, leaving angry red flesh behind. Bones were jutting out at odd angles, and at least one foreleg was completely broken. Narste couldn't even get up anymore- Just struggle weakly in the cold night air. A puddle of saliva and blood formed around the dragon.

Ryan was completely frozen in fear. Devos had done this to his friend... Was Eostre also in the grey dragon's belly, gurgling away? Did Devos know this was his friend? Ryan stammered, and slowly took a step back. "Oh no... Not you..."

At Ryan's speech, Narste weakly turned his head to the blue dragon. "Guh...? Hnuugh!" The green dragon was unable to speak, only gurgle in recognition of his friend's voice. All the while, Devos was smiling, seemingly unconcerned by Ryan's reaction.

"Well, if you're hungry... Eat up." Devos curled his tail behind the blue dragon, who stumbled when he backed up into it.

"What? No! I can't!" Ryan flailed. "I can't!"

"But aren't you hungry?"

"I can't eat him! He's-"

Devos grinned. "Your friend?"

Ryan's eyes went wide, freezing once again. No... Was this all a trap? Screaming, Ryan tried to pick himself up and bolt. However, Devos had other plans; with a swipe of his powerful foreclaw, he sent Ryan tumbling to a stop before him.

"Come on. Let's eat."

"You monster!" Ryan shouted, attempting to pick himself back up. "You cannibal!"

"Trust me... Your friend here is delicious. Allow me to give you a taste."

Ryan took a step away once again, but Devos simply got more aggressive. With a whimper, Devos pounced on top of Ryan. All he saw was a flash of grey, and then he felt the crushing weight of the larger dragon on top of him. He gasped and flailed, but it was no use- Devos had him pinned, holding him with his claws.

"Let... Me... Go..." Ryan panted.

"Not until you've had a good meal, my friend..." Devos said.

All the while, Narste was left on the ground. Ryan saw that he was further away now; the green dragon was slowly trying to crawl away from the scuffle. However, Devos had other plans for Narste. With a languid stroke, Devos took his foreclaw and reached, sinking his talons into the green dragon's soft flesh. It punched through with sickening ease, making Narste howl in pain. green scales were ripped off from the friction as he was dragged slowly back to where Devos had Ryan pinned.

Ryan squirmed, unable to move under the great weight. With the other claw, Devos roughly grabbed his head, forcing it in front of him. Now, Ryan had nothing but a good view of Narste's partially digested flesh.

"Open your mouth."

Ryan stammered in pure horror. "N... No! You can't make me ea-"

In talking, Ryan indeed opened his mouth, and Devos took advantage of this fact. Grabbing Narste's head as well as Ryan's, he swiftly shoved the green's head right into the maw of the blue, making Ryan try to close his mouth. However, Devos had control of his head, using a claw to force it wide. With a rough shove, Narste went into Ryan's unwilling maw.

Ryan gagged. Not only was this meal huge, it was one Ryan was very much against eating. He pushed his tongue against his friend's head, trying to push him out. Devos, however, had other plans. His shoving was forceful, making Ryan choke and gargle. There was no choice except to eat him or suffocate! Ryan teared up as he was forced to make his first swallow.

It was agonizingly slow, forcing Ryan to open his mouth painfully wide. He could feel rough scales scrape against his throat as he consumed Narste. Ryan could hear soft moans coming from his friend, making Ryan wriggle all the more. Soon, he tasted Narste's neck, forcing his tongue around the thing to make sure he doesn't gag.

With a sickening crack, Narste's shoulder bones broke, letting Ryan slowly begin on his forelegs. Devos kept pushing, and pushing hard, making Ryan keep gulping. It went on for an eternity, Ryan slowly stretching his mouth wider and wider, feeling his throat extend and bulge, feeling every inch of Narste's flesh in his mouth.

Soon, Ryan choked down the forelegs, and was on his middle. Ryan could feel his once-empty stomach begin to fill with dragon, making him whimper as it pressed into the ground. Already, he felt overly full! His entire digestive system felt overloaded; throat, maw, and belly all extending too far.

Every time Ryan gagged or resisted, Devos only pushed harder. "Come on, you can do this..." He cooed, as he gave an especially rough push. Ryan whimpered as he ate, wriggling uselessly under Devos's power.

Soon, the hindlegs found their way into Ryan's jaws. Ever so slowly, Ryan was forced to gulp these down as well. Slow swallow after slow swallow, the legs of the dragon disappeared into Ryan's throat, never to see the light of day again. With. One last gulp, the two claws on Narste's feet were sucked down.

The tail was the last part to go. Devos stoked Ryan's throat as Ryan slowly choked down the tail, slurping it up. Ryan moaned uncomfortably; his gut felt like it was going to explode. It was as big as he was now, almost, with the same odd bulges he noticed on Devos before.

With the last bit of tail. Devos got up off of the dragon. Suddenly free, Ryan stumbled to his feet. Ryan looked behind him at Devos. He was still grinning, pleased with his work. Ryan retched, but to no use, and then tried to step forwards. His gut felt so heavy, so full, and he struggled to even move. With a gasp and a sob, Ryan fell forwards.

"Oh, Narste... I'm so sorry..." Ryan cried out, panting. He could feel weak movements inside him, and let out another sob. He was in pure shock, not knowing that to do...

Devos leaned down, head close to Ryan's. "Nice and full now?"

"Please... No more!"

"Oh, no more for YOU." Devos laughed. "But now I'M feeling peckish..."

Ryan tried to crawl away, his heavy middle impeding him. Devos skimpily squatted down, and grabbed Ryan's fluffy tail in his maw.

Ryan shuddered as he felt the warm saliva coat his tail. He felt Devos's powerful tongue grip his tail, pulling him in.

Ryan screamed. "Wait! No! I don't want to die!"

Devos only began to gulp, dragging the heavy dragon across the ground.

He continued. "Please! I'll do anything! I'll help you!"

Suddenly, at those words, Devos stopped. With a gurgle, Devos spat out Ryan's tail, leaving the saliva-coated thing on the ground. He raised his head, and smiled.

"FInally... One of you three offered." Devos laughed. "Yes... I have many things to show you about the Dark Path. Welcome to my service, my friend."
