I unlock my apartment door and shuffle in. I'm carrying armfuls of groceries; today was ration distribution day. I've been scraping by the past few days; I couldn't go back to work now with that I did. They sure try to call me, though...

I got the maximal amount of rations I could; all for Faul. I looked at him as I walked in. He was sleeping in the living room as usual. Over the past few days, I've been feeding him whatever I had, and the results were showing. He was much larger now, taking up most of the room and pressing against the couch. He hardly fit through doorways and couldn't go into the hall anymore.

I felt slightly sorry for him; I had to keep him in here so he was safe. He didn't have much wiggle room left. I watched his belly expand and contract as he snored. His musculature only got more well-defined as he grew, but there's one spot that was also growing: His belly. It poked out at his sides more than it used to.

I walked over to the sleeping dragon and set down my paper bags. I reached out and gave his fuzzy back a slow rub, smiling. His eyes fluttered open, and he looked over at me.

"Hello, Dave. Did you get the food?"

"Yep! Got some nice stuff for you today."

I sat down on the floor, resting next to his forelegs and leaning on his side. "How was the nap?"

"Good... But I'd love to see the outside."

I stroked his flank as he talked. "I wish you could too. Look... I'll find a way to get you out and about for a day, yeah?"

"I'd like that."

"Me too."

I slowly get up; I have other things to do. I grab the bags and take them into the kitchen. I begin to unpack my groceries. It's nothing but large cuts of meat; I figured it's better than ration packets for Faul. In the middle of taking out some chicken, I hear the phone ring in the bedroom. Again.

I actually haven't used the bedroom in a few days, preferring to sleep with Faul, but the phone was installed there. I let the phone ring, eventually going to voice-mail. I listened idly as it began.

"Hey. This is Vince. Look, bud, I know you're not taking calls... But you gotta hear me. They have security camera footage. They know what you did now. You gotta get the hell out of dodge, man. Please... Don't get caught. And call your bud Vince sometime, huh?"

My eyes widened. That... Was an important call. I dropped my food and ran over to the bedroom, but it was too late. Vince hung up. I must have stood there, staring at the phone, thinking, for so long. Would they come for us?

"Dave? What's going on?" I hear Faul call from the living room. I have to come up with a plan...

I slowly walk out into the room. Faul is looking at me concernedly.

"EE knows that I stole you. We're going to either have to get out of here... Or strike first."

"Strike first...?"

"If we want any hope of evading the Oculus, we need to make sure EE doesn't sic them on us."

"I see... How do we do this?"

"Well, first, I have to call Vince back."

* * *

I stepped in front of the cargo bay doors that I thought I never would return to. This was it- we were going in.

It had been a bit of a struggle to get here. I had difficulty fitting through Dave's apartment door, and I found the elevator simply impossible to stuff myself into. I had simply grown too large! We had to walk down all 20 flights of stairs to the exit, Dave walking with me. People had stared even more on the streets as I passed.

But now I was there. I nudged open the doors with my snout; they creaked open without an issue. Dave was close by, looking around him. We walked into the facility.

The dimly lit hall once again filled my vision. We padded cautiously into the entrance room. The door, usually one-way and closed tight, was open. I looked behind me to see the glass booth, containing Vince.

"Took you long enough." he said, yawning.

I listened to Dave and Vince as they talked. They were comfortable with each other. Were they friends?

"I gotta say, you really came through this time, Vince."

"What can I say? I always gotta be the one to save your ass."

"Well, you know what I gotta do, Vince. You okay with that?"

"Don't worry, man. My shift's almost over. Besides, I resigned earlier this morning." Vince grins.

Dave laughs. "Well, you take care, okay? I don't want you caught up in this mess."

"I wouldn't let myself get stuck! See you on the flipside."

"Yeah... Thanks." Dave says as Vince sits up and exits through a door in the back of his little room.

And then we were alone. We moved forward.

The first few halls were empty. I tried my best to be silent, quieting my claws upon the hard floor. Dave walked next to me.

I recalled the plan we had formed before coming to this place. We were to come in, find the records room, and destroy any evidence that I existed here. That way, the Oculus would have no lead on what happened.

And infiltration was about to happen. I didn't know how many people were on staff, but I figured that if Dave recalled what areas were staffed, we would be okay.

As we rounded the corner, we met the first worker. A lioness anthro came around quickly, almost bumping into Dave. I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Oh, hey Dave. You're back. Can you..." She stopped talking, and looked up at me. Her eyes narrowed, and then went wide.

"Is that the escapee?"

My instincts told me that this was a very bad situation. Dave had told me earlier that we might have to fight through here, and it slowly dawned on me that she wouldn't let us off the hook. I had to do something.

Quickly, I dove on her as best as I could. She screamed, but it was too late. I had her.

I pinned her to the ground with my foreclaws as I dove forward. This winded her, leaving her vulnerable. I didn't want to do this... But I had to.

I had to silence her. I looked at her, my head looming over the anthro.

"Sorry." was all I said before opening my maw wide and grabbing her in my jaws.

She yelled, but I had to ignore her cries, I gulped her down as fast as I could; I just swallowed her whole, not having the heart to chew. It was easier than I ever expected- with a few powerful swallows, all she was was a bulge in my neck, going down to my stomach.

I heard her muffled yells from inside me. After a minute, the noises stopped. It was an odd feeling- I just had killed an anthro... But it was for the greater good, I reminded myself. On the other hand, eating always feels good... And the taste of anthro is rather good, I thought...

That scream of the anthro doubtlessly caused a lot of people to take notice, so I decided to speed our progress. I started trotting down the hall, Dave following me.

Dave speaks up. "Good job... But I think our cover might be blown."

"Probably. Let's go."

We don't have to go far before we receive resistance. Two more lab-coated anthros rush out from a room, concerned.

One shouts. "What's going on-"

Before they could finish, I was upon them both, one in each claw. They struggled under my grip, but couldn't do anything as I ate the one held by my left claw. My jaws went over him ,and soon enough, he disappeared into me.

The other one started screaming. "WE'VE GOT A BREACH ON-" And then I muffled him, taking him into my mouth like the last one.

He soon joined my stomach. I was feeling satiated at this point; three bodies was a lot of food. And as my stomach gurgled, I digested them. As we ran ahead, I could feel the usual feeling of my body stretching. Anthros were a good food source...

We reached a fork in the halls. Dave pointed me to the left hall, and away we went.

I ran, even as I grew. I could feel my needy member expand quickly; food always does this to me. But ignore the flushed feeling and continued. It kept brushing against my hindlegs as I ran.

Dave followed close behind. I could tell he was getting winded, but we had a destination to get to. And fast; resistance was increasing.

A small group of workers with guns ran out into the hall. They shout at me to stop, but I cannot. They attempt to hold their ground, and then they fire.

Dave dove behind my legs as the bullets flew. My eyes went wide as I saw the flash coming from the weapons. I roared when I felt pinpricks of pain spread across my front.

But that's all they were. Pinpricks. As I got shot, I felt the wounds closing over and the pain subsiding. I had stopped when they brandished the weapons; I now took steps forward. They stopped firing, screamed, and ran.

But they were too slow. I jumped directly onto them, sending a few of the weapons skittering across the floor. They provided little additional resistance as I forced them to join the others in my increasingly large belly.

I swallowed them one after another until they all were gone. My belly creaked in protest as it expanded over my legs. After they were gone, I turned to Dave. He picked up an errant weapon and joined me, stopping to give my belly a quick rub.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine... Oddly enough." I said as I felt myself becoming larger.

"You have a healing factor... I recall selecting that mutagen. I'm glad it works."

"Me too. Let's keep going."

We continued on our way, Dave telling me where to go.

We eventually got to the room. The records room.

Dave walked up to the small door and moved the handle. He moved it to no avail; the door was locked.

"Oh, piss." Dave said, banging on the door. "What do we do now."

I knew what to do. "Out of the way."

Dave looked at me a second before jogging behind me and turning around. I reared up, tail flicking. I broke into a dead run at the door.

I slammed my body against the wall. It cracked before my force. I backed up once again and ran at it with all my might. WIth a thump, the wall cracked even more. One more bash was all it took to cause the wall to cave in, sheetrock flying everywhere as I barrelled into the room.

I, not knowing my new strength, couldn't stop myself, and I fell into a heap in the middle of the room. It was filled with boxes containing papers and lagre black boxes Dave had told me were called computers.

I got up, the dust cloud expanding as I displaced my own rubble. Dave walked inside, smiling.

"Well, I don't know where the tapes are stored... So let's trash the whole thing."

I watched as Dave shot at a computer monitor. It threw sparks, and then was silent. I looked around me. My stomach grumbled; it had a lot to digest. I grew upwards and my flesh, still erect, grew outwards. But then I felt a new sensation.

It was like a hard substance was inside my guts. It began to put pressure on my insides, expanding. It was a bit like bad gas, but more powerful than anything I've ever felt. It grew inside of me... I had to let it out...

And let it out I did. I opened my mouth to expel a belch, but then I felt the tubes in my neck flare. I felt gas going through the tubes, and then I exhaled.

Fire came out.

Luckily, Dave dove out of the way as he saw me prepare the burp. Because when I did, a ball of flame came out and shot into the room. It struck against a shelf of papers, and they burst into flame immediately.

I recoiled at my sudden action. I smelled the burning material as I took a step back. Dave, when he was finished staring, chuckled.

"Glad to see the fire tubes work."

I recalled that Dave told me I had this ability a while back. It still came as a bit of a shock. "I suppose this will help us now."

"Oh, it will. Let's burn this place down!"

I compiled; there was still a lot of gas building in my gut now. All around the room, I liberally applied fireballs. Pretty soon, it was getting hot inside; the flames were growing, and smoke was billowing everywhere.

We had done our job.

We ran out the way we came. The fire alarms were now blaring, alerting everyone, but we didn't care. We met more workers in our path; I ate them, not daring to set them on fire with my new ability.

As we jogged to the exit, Dave spoke."Well, I think this place is out of business for a long while."

"Yes, I believe so."

As I was walking, I wasn't thinking about the gas inside me. So when I accidentally let some slip out my rear end, I thought nothing of it. But I then heard Dave go "Ack!" and then turned around.

"Watch it! That's a fiery fart!" he laughed.

"Oh, wow... I'm so sorry!"

Another laugh. "Apology accepted. Let's get out of here."
