Chapter Forty Six

Serph's smile dropped from his face as he looked down at Serinity and me and spoke again, "You just don't get it do you female.....those two underlings you killed had digimon who have asked to have the shifters head as the main course for dinner tonight...." he said coldly.

I saw Serinity's tail fur flare out when she heard this and her hands clinched into fists as she replied, "Then bring them out so they may try and I can kill them." she growled back.

This got another round of chuckles from Serph and the rest of the room, "Hehehehe....be calm dark vixen." Serph replied as he held up a hand to calm her.

"After meeting you I'm willing to give your little slave a sporting chance just like I do for anyone of my underlings who has a disagreement with someone else"

Serinity studied the human for a second before answering his comment, "And just what is this chance you speak of Human...." she asked him.

I saw the wicked grin play over the humans face again and for a split second I thought I saw something happen to his eyes, "A two on one fight between your slave and the two digimon whose tamers he killed"

I ignored the eyes of the human and concentrated on what he was saying for now, "Your slave has to survive the fight and if he loses then he dies and the digimon get his head for their main course but if he wins then he goes free and the digimon will most likely be killed.....that is unless your slave decides to let them live in which case I'll kill them anyway"

"Is this acceptable to you?" Serph asked as a look of sick glee filled his eyes.

Serinity thought about this hard before answering him, "Very well human but if Shadow wins I get to keep the Anthro slave girl for my amusement and you can't say anything about it do you agree with this?"

Suddenly the whole room burst into laughter behind us as Serinity waited for Serph's answer, after Serph and the rest of the room began to calm down he finally replied with that same look of sick glee in his eyes, "Very well dark vixen if your slave somehow manages to survive this little encounter then you can keep the girl with my blessings but since your raising the stakes on me if he loses not only does he die but you have to stay here and be my sex slave for as long as I care to let you live do you agree to this."

When I heard him say this my anger flared and I moved before I even realized what I was doing, i bolted forward and released my claws then jumped at the human and lashed out at his head but before I could strike at him the collar on my neck suddenly started to pull against me making me stop with my claws inches from his face.

I flailed desperately trying to get at him but the more I tried the more the collar held me back from him, all I could think about was ripping off the bastards head as I struggled to reach him until I heard Serinity's voice calling to me.

"Shadow! Be still at once or you will be PUNISHED!" she yelled at me.

I stopped my thrashing and glared at the human who looked back at me with that damned grin on his face, "Yes little shifter, listen to your mistress and get BACK!"

As he yelled out this last part he raised his leg and kicked me square in the chest making me fly back away from him, I sailed through the air and hit a table hard and slid across the top knocking down several plates of food before I finally came to a stop.

*What the hell was that?!* I thought to myself as I looked at Serph, *A human like him shouldn't be able to do something like that unless......* with a sudden slap of reality I realized what was going on and got up standing on the table.

As i walked over the top of it back to Serinity's side I glared heatedly at the human before me and the darkness in me desperately wanted to grab him and rip his head off and do sick things to him but I crushed it down as I jumped off the table and got back to my spot beside her.

"Oh, he is a feisty one isn't he.....I like that in a slave....maybe I'll keep him around for my own amusement when he loses this fight little one......then I can make him watch every time I take you." Serph said as he glared back at me.

I started to bolt for him again but Serinity shot her hand out before I could and blocked my way as she spoke, "You think to little of my slave human it will be your underlings who will lose this day and when that happens I will reward my slave with his greatest pleasure" Serinity said to him coldly.

This only made that sick smile grow wider on his face before he spoke, "On the contrary vixen I'm willing to bet that he will lose this fight, I dare to say that your little slave their will barely last a minute before he is either killed or made to suffer greatly at my hands hehehehehahahahahaha"

I suddenly felt a wave of cold air blast me in the face as a feeling of bloodlust came from the human before me, but this wasn't like anything I've ever felt from a human before....no this was something that felt otherworldly in nature like what ever was putting off this sensation was something more than what I expected and I could tell it was incredibly powerful.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Kate flinch back from the sound of Serph's laughter and cower where she was standing and Serinity's fur stood straight up at the sound but her face never changed but for me the sound only served to stir up the darkness in my mind and make it pull at me with the need for release and the lust for death.

Finally his laughter died down and he looked at Serinity as he spoke, "Then let us begin this fight so that we can begin the festivities and eat female before I grow bored and forget that you are a guest in my house" he said coldly.

Suddenly I heard the sound of wood scraping against stone as the tables behind me were moved out of the way and the next thing I knew I was being grabbed and my arms were forced behind me.

"Wait!" Serinity called out as I was being dragged back from her, she turned away from Serph and walked over to me glaring at the one who held me and making them back off several feet as she got closer.

She got right up next to me and i bent down as she put her muzzle close to my ear and traced a clawed finger over my chest and whispered to me, "Chad....I know that you want to kill him know but we have to wait for the plan to take effect before we do otherwise Kate's friends will be in danger." I shivered from Serinity's touch and closed my eyes as I nuzzled my face into hers and replied.

"I'm sorry but it's really hard for me to control myself." I told her.

She traced her finger down to the waistband of my pants as she spoke again, "I know trust me I felt it too but you must fight it for now....just go along with this for now and give him what he wants but don't lose please." she told me.

I shivered again as she trailed her finger over the front of my pants making my dick jump to life but I ignored it and spoke to her again, "You realize that this fight won't be fair right?".

"Yes I know but there is nothing we can do about it, finish this for me and don't lose because I really don't want to be taken by him." she whispered to me.

I opened my eyes and pinned Serph with my deadliest glare as I whispered back to her.

"Fine but as things stand now I'll do this my way then I'll take care of Serph." I told her.

She nuzzled her face into my cheek and replied, "Fine but as for Serph just stick to the plan and you'll have your chance at him but not until Kate's friends are safe".

"Very well mistress, I will do as you command!" I said aloud.

Serinity stepped back from me as she spoke, "Make sure you do slave otherwise I will kill you myself if you lose.

With that she turned and walked back over to Kate and turned again to watch me, I felt the hands again as they wretch my arms behind me and felt rope touch my arm as they started to bind my fore arms behind me.

Serinity jerked her head around and glared at Serph who was looking at me with that same look of sick glee and spoke, "What is the meaning of this Serph? I thought you said that you would give my slave a chance why are you having his arms bound?!" she growled at him.

Serph just smiled at me as he spoke to her, "I did indeed say I'd give him a sporting chance but I never said that it would be a fair one female, but if you don't like it you can always give yourself to me now" he said as he got out of his chair and walked down the diaz until he was standing beside her.

I saw her fur raise again as he got closer to her and I could tell that she wanted to back away from him but she stood strong and turned to look at me again, the next thing I knew I was surrounded by a circle of humans and digimon who were looking at me like a fresh side of ribs but my gaze was locked on Serph and his sick smile.

I heard a shuffle like foot steps behind me and a low guttural growling laughter, that would normally have been enough to send chills down someone's spine but I was to angry at Serph to really care.

I finally tore my gaze from him and turned myself around to look at my opponents, what stood before me was a Mummymon and a Myotismon both of them had confident smiles on their face as they glared at me.

I saw The Myotismon release a stream of red crackling energy from his hand that slid across the floor and gave off the smell of burnt ozone, As he did this the Mummymon let several stands of bandages slid out of the sleeves of his blue coat and chuckled menacingly at me.

The Myotismon stepped forward and looked me over from head to toe as he spoke, "So this is the shifter that killed my tamer is it.....hehehehe.....this is going to be almost to easy." he said.

He looked at the Mummymon at his left and spoke to him, "You can have him first."

The Mummymon chuckled dryly as he replied, "Are you sure? I don't want to take all of the fun for myself Vincent."

Vincent grinned at the Mummymon as he spoke, "No go ahead Ra just don't kill the thing to soon i still want to have my fun with him before he dies."

Ra chuckled dryly again and stepped forward away from the ring of his friends and the Myotismon, the bandages that had slid out of his sleeves began to rise off the floor and began dancing around in the air like snakes as his mouth opened in a wide toothy (If you could call it that) grin.

I slouched until I was looking him straight in the eye and spoke to him coldly, "I will give you and the wannabe vampire one chance to give this up before I kill you both slowly." I said as i gave him a cold stare.

I saw him stop and the look of confidence on his face faltered for a second then his grin came back as the ring of humans and digimon around us burst into laughter, I heard a scratchy voice off to my left speak to Ra.

"Come on Ra don't let this freak scare you it was only luck he kill your tamer so it's time for you to take revenge." it said to him.

Then came another voice from my right, "Yeah I'll bet this trash doesn't even have any attacks to defend himself with he should be easy prey for you so take your time!".

Then a third voice from behind me called out, "Yeah take it slow and make him scream like the piece of shit that shifter is!"

This got a chorus of agreement and cheers from the group around us but I ignored them and focused on the task at hand, "Will you leave with your code intact or will you die Digimon....it doesn't matter to me but I should tell you that before your tamer died He screamed like a stuck fucking pig and I made him beg me for the sweet release of death." I told him with an evil grin.

I saw Ra stiffen then he bellowed his rage at me and the bandages waving in the air shot forward at me, I danced through them easily as they bit into the stone floor and made small craters as they hit.

"You'll die for that you shifter TRASH!" he yelled.

I continued to weave my way through his attack and made my way closer to him and when I was about ten feet away I bolted at him then jumped and kneed him right in the face then I twisted around in the air and planted a double footed kick right to his chest and pushed off him.

I flipped myself around in the air and came down facing him with a smile and hoped that he would give me a little respite from the tension I was feeling, a second after I came down i felt something wrap around my legs and the next thing I knew I was tossed into the air like a ragdoll.

I felt something grab me as I sailed threw the air and wrap around my body and as I looked I saw they were bandages, Suddenly they snapped tight around my body and started crushing me hard and i screamed out from the pain as I heard those around us start to cheer at my predicament.

I went limp in the grip of the bandages as I was slowly lowered to a point just above the ground some three feet in the air, "You're going to regret those words shifter....I'll make you pay for killing my tamer and you'll beg me to end your life."

As Ra spoke I felt the Bandages tighten around my body as they began to squeeze me hard, but I didn't care all I could think about was how much fun I was going to have in the next few minutes when I ripped out the digimons throat and bathed in his blood.

Suddenly I was slammed up against a stone pillar hard and it knocked the breath out of me and made pain blossom in my brain, after the pain subsided I noticed the feeling from a few days ago as it crept out of the back of my mind and a sharp stab of pain in the middle of my forehead.

I also heard the voice as it called out to me sending a shiver of rage through me, *What's the matter weakling aren't you going to fight back?......These pieces of filth should be easy for you to deal with even without my help.....or are you really that weak...* the voice said.

"No....I..."

*You what weakling, you'll run away again? hahahahaha.....no matter how far you run you can never escape your own mind......I will always be here ready to take control from you......one day I will be free of you and I will take your body and the girl and I will make you watch as I shatter her innocents and show her a world of pleasure and pain*

I felt my anger flare at the voice and I snapped my eyes open and found myself glaring at the face of the Mummymon who was grinning at me and chuckling gleefully, but then I heard the voice again as it spoke like it's words were coming out of the Mummymons mouth.

"What are you going to do about it you weakling trash.....what are you going to do when I make you watch as i take your precious Serinity away from you before I banish you to the depths of your own mind!?"

I felt my face twist into an expression of sheer rage as i looked at the digimon before me, "I'll kill you....I"M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!" I yelled at him.

I Summoned my power and sent it out of my body and heard the bandages give off a ripping sound as they exploded away from me along with the rope they had used to bind my hands, I fell to the ground and landed in a crouch as the surprised gasps of both human and digimon assaulted my ears.

I slowly stood up and met the fearful gaze of the digimon before me. But even as I saw that look of fear I saw his mouth move and the voice from my mind come out, "You can't kill me weakling....I'm the only one who can kill even when you were taking those drugs to suppress me it was always me who killed not you.....your nothing but a weak piece of trash that needs to be thrown away!"

My hands shot out and I grabbed the Mummymon by the neck and squeezed as I lifted him off the ground and into the air, I saw him start to flail around as his hands grabbed my wrists and he struggled for breath but I didn't care.

No all I cared about was stopping the voice by any means possible and making it vanish, but even as i crushed the throat of the Digimon in my hands I could still hear it speak to me.

"Is that all you've got weakling? I've felt better grips from struggling children!!."

Again my anger flared and I tightened my grip around the Mummymons neck as I spoke, "Why......why won't you leave me alone?!.....why won't you just vanish and disappear forever!" I growled.

Suddenly I heard a loud crack and the Mummymon in my hands went limp, I could hear the sound of my own pulse pounding in my ears as I let his body drop from my hands to the ground and watched him burst into data.

Suddenly I felt pain flare across my side and I was thrown across the floor and onto my back, when I sat up I saw the one called Vincent glaring at me angrily as he spoke to me.

"You got lucky With Ra shifter but I am another matter all together! Crimson Lightening!"

I saw him bring up his other hand as another whip of crackling red energy shot from it at me; it caught me square in the chest and knocked me back across the floor until I hit something that felt like a leg.

I was shoved back into the fight from behind but I ignored it and stood up slowly as I glared at the face of the Myotismon before me, *If your not going to let me have the bitch then are you going to let him?* the voice asked me.

"What?!"

*Hehehehe.....what do you think he's going to do to her when he kills you.....he's going to have his way with her and their won't be a thing you can do to stop him!*

As I looked at the Myotismon the edges of my vision started to turn red and I was filled with the need to hear him scream in agony and beg me for death, I saw him raise his arms high then he lashed out with the red energy whips but just as they were about to connect with me I reached out and grabbed them with my left hand.

The look of fear on his face only made me smile as I pulled on the whips and dragged him closer to me, *Yes that's it Chad, make him scream for what he will do to her if he beats you, make him suffer a thousand times more than anything he will ever do to her, revel in his pain and agony*

"Yes.....I will...." I said as I pulled him closer to me, "I will make you suffer......"

As I pulled him the final few feet to me I saw the sheer terror in his eyes as he looked back at me, I reached out with my right hand and grabbed his arm then squeezed as hard as I could until I heard the crack of bones as they broke and the scream of pain that accompanied it.

I cackled gleefully as I continued to twist the broken appendage until it moved freely in my grip then I let go and watched as Vincent fell to the ground in pain holding his mangled arm.

I brought my leg up and kicked him in the chest making him fly back several feet before he came to a halt, I was moving before he ever stopped and when he did I was right there.

I bent down and grabbed his leg and gave it a sudden twist and was rewarded with the sound of snapping bone and tearing flesh along with another scream of agony, I also felt something wet and warm cover my hands and looked done to find that his blood was seeping out from his destroyed ankle.

Still holding the broken ankle I moved around until I was standing off to the side of him them I brought my leg up again and kicked at his knee, I felt the bones give way from the strength of my attack and heard the scream of agony then nothing.

I stopped when I didn't heard the screams anymore and looked down to find that Vincent had fainted, I kicked him in the ribs making him cough and gasp as he woke up and started moaning again.

I dropped the oddly bent leg and grabbed him by the chest as I dragged him up to eye level making sure to dig my nails in his skin so I could cause him pain as i did this and smiled at him.

*Yes Chad.....take pleasure in his pain and give him more for what he would do to Serinity.....hehehehahahahahaa*

I felt my mouth water as I looked at the pain on the digimons face, I felt hungry for blood as I quickly shoved my face forward and bit into his neck causing him to scream sweet agony into my ear as I sank my fangs into his soft flesh then I began pulling back making his ruptured arteries spurt blood onto my chin and chest and around my mouth.

I heard the sound of ripping muscles like the tearing of a thick fabric as I did then I pulled free from him and felt the chunk of flesh that use to be his neck flop into my mouth so I chewed on it and spit it into his face and watched his eyes go dead before he turned into data in my hands.

As I absorbed the two digimons data into myself I laughed manically and looked at the group that surrounded me until i found the face of a female human that was frozen in sheer terror, I raised my right hand and motioned for her to come to me but she started backing away which only made me laugh more.

I took a few steps towards her and reached for her as the group of digimon and humans around her backed quickly away from us.

"STOP IT RIGHT NOW!"

I froze in my tracks from surprise as I heard Serinity's voice come to me and slowly turned my head until I spotted her standing before the crowd looking at me, As our gaze's met the red tint that clouded my vision faded and my body began to shake as I looked at her.

I suddenly realized what I had done and collapsed on the ground with tears streaming down my face and looked at the floor completely ashamed of myself, *What have I done!* I thought to myself in horror.

I felt Serinity put her hand on my shoulder and looked up at her only to see her smiling at me gently, "That's enough." she said quietly.

I looked up into her eyes as i cried, "I'm sorry.....I didn't mean t-"

"It's all right....you did well" she said cutting me off, she helped me to my feet and walked me over to a bench and sat me down before turning to Serph who was still grinning that sick grin of his.

"The fight is over Serph your precious digimon have failed to defeat my slave and you're Anthro is now mine"

Serph's smile just got bigger and he started to cackle as he looked from Serinity to me, after a few second of laughter he calmed down but didn't lose his smile.

"Fare enough vixen you may have the Anthro slave......that was well worth one little slave girl anyway."

As he spoke I saw the look of horror on Kate's face and quickly looked away in shame, I heard Serinity speak to her after Serph quit talking.

"You there, go and get some water and a cloth and bring it to me now!"

I heard running feet as Kate left the room, I saw Serinity's feet move as she turned back to me then I felt her put her hand on my chin and lift my head until I was looking at her.

"It's alright now....." she told me as I continued to cry, she used her other hand and wiped a tear from my face and smiled at me.

"You did well....you did very well" she said as she lay her hand on my cheek, I felt the touch and nuzzled into it drawing what comfort I could from the contact before I heard sloshing water and running feet.

I looked off to the side and saw Kate running towards us holding a bucket of water, when she got some five feet from us she stopped and looked at me and i turned my gaze away in shame.

"What are you doing slave?! Get over here with that water now!" she said.

The next thing I felt was a cold wash cloth as it was pressed to my face to wipe away the blood, after a few minute of this a cup was pressed to my lips and I saw it was filled with water so I took some of it into my mouth and swished it around trying to get as much of the blood out as I could before I spit it out.

After Serinity washed me off she helped me stand up again, she grabbed my hand and guided me across the room making the humans and digimon before us scatter out of the way in fear.

She lead me over to the stairwell we had come down and sat me down on the steps then began running her hands gently over my face, "It's alright now Chad, everything is going to be ok." she said to me.

I sat staring at the floor like that for some time before I finally remembered what it was we were suppose to be doing and stood up, Serinity looked up at me "Are you ok now shadow?"

I bowed my head and averted my gaze as I spoke, "Yes mistress"

She nooded to me and spoke again, "Good now follow me."

I followed her out of the stair well and found the humans and digimon had gone back to their little party and some of them were acting pretty drunk and getting loud, I ignored them but I still didn't meet anyone's gaze as we took a seat far from the others as they ate and went about their revelry.

I drank some water as we waited for the drugs to kick in and noticed that Kate was looking at me strangely; I averted my gaze and just stared at the table as we waited for the drugs to take effect.

Chapter Forty Seven

It took Several hours longer than i thought it would but eventually the humans and digimon stared to slow down and so did Serph who had also been eating the food, Finally the started dropping one by one to the ground or onto the table out cold.

Serinity touched my shoulder and I looked up and saw what was happening and began moving, Serinity, Kate and I made our way to the kitchen and got everyone ready to go then Ka'Na lead us to the dungeon where they were holding the other anthro slaves.

We moved from one cell to another freeing them and telling them to go to the main hall, as we finally got through freeing them Kate took me off to the side of the cell we were in and spoke to me, "What the hell was that back there shifter!" she whispered sharply.

I said nothing instead I looked at the floor and tried not to think about it, but this didn't seem to make her stop because she grabbed me by the shoulders and slammed me up against the wall and forced me to look at her.

"Damn it what was that!" she whispered again

I narrowed my eyes at her and pushed her off of me and i spoke, "I...I don't know!"

"What do you mean you don't know? How could you not know what that was?!" she asked me.

I let my gaze fall to the floor as I spoke again, "It's.....hard to explain but....." I let my shoulders fall in defeat as I told her.

"It's the reason I don't want Serinity to get to close to me...."

This seemed to shut her up because when i looked at her again I saw something different in her eyes, a look I knew all to well......fear.

"Will you two quit yapping and help me with these Beastials please?!" Serinity called out.

I pushed past Kate and walked out of the cell and made my way over to her, I picked up a young rabbit girl and helped Serinity get another far older male to his feet then we made or way to the exit.

As we passed by the unconscious form of the human guard the beastial Serinity was helping stopped and kicked the guy in the chest and went back on his way to the main hall.

By the time we made it back I noticed that the Sorcerymon who had attended my wounds was standing by the door looking over those who were badly beaten and couldn't walk.

As we got closer I noticed that he was tending their wounds, I got closer to him and put the girl down on the floor.

He stopped what he was doing and looked up at me as he spoke, "So it's true....you really are here to help us"

This caught me by surprise, "Help them? Yes, you I'm going to kill after you get done tending to their wounds" I told him.

"Chad stop please don't hurt him!" some one called.

I turned to the source and saw Kate helping and elderly panther woman over to us, "You remember when I told you that we had some digimon living in the village with us?" she asked.

I nodded silently as I waited for her to get to the point, "He's one of them." she said pointing a finger at the Sorcerymon.

This caught me off guard and I looked at the digimon before me, "But why would you even think of siding with that shit head human?" I asked as I pointed to the sleeping form on the bone chair.

Sorcerymon looked down and started working on the Anthro's again, " Because shifter....if I didn't agree to do this then Serph would have killed my life mate which he has locked away in his tower." he told me.

This caught me by surprise as I studied him, "curiouser and curiouser" I whispered to myslef.

I looked back at the human who seemed to be sleeping peace fully in the chair, "Where is this tower?" I asked.

"It's connected at the back of the castle but you need the key that the human has before you can unlock the door."

I thought about this for a minute before i spoke again, "I'll get your mate digimon but right now she's safer were she is and we need to get those guards outside taken down before anything else."

"That's right Sorcerymon we need to think about the villager's safety first before we go and get your mate" Serinity said to him.

The digimon nodded to her but kept working, as I watched him work I heard a soft groan from the little rabbit girl and looked down as she opened her eyes and looked up at me.

She immediately started crawling backwards until she hit the wall and stopped moving, "Well it seems this one doesn't need looking after" I said.

I could see the confusion on her face as she saw the others around her and where we were then she looked back at me questioningly, all I did was shrug at her and turn away towards the door and start walking.

I listened to the sounds outside the door but only heard the thudding feet of those outside, I pulled away from the door and did a scan with my thermal but found nothing out of place.

I looked at the Sorcerymon again and saw that he was working on the last badly injured Anthro, *Something not right.....this was too easy.* I thought to myself as I looked back at the human called Serph.

I looked around and found Ka'Na standing off to the side so I walked over to her, "Ka'Na did you put those grenades in the gun placements like I asked you to?"

Ka'Na seemed to react slower then she should have as she spoke to me and she had a strange look in her eyes, "Yes shifter I did."

I suddenly felt a cold chill permeate the room and felt a shiver run up my spine, I turned to Serinity and Kate.

"We need to get these people out of here now!" I said loudly.

I seemed to catch both of them off guards as they turned to look at me but the expression on my face told them not to argue, they quickly started getting those that could walk to gather those that couldn't and i turned to look at the sorcerymon.

"Your going to have to get these people out of here digimon." I said to him.

He looked a little confused but nodded to me, "Very well shifter but what about the guards outside?"

"Don't worry about them that's already taken care of you just worry about the ones that survive and you should be fine" I told him.

He nodded again and started towards the door, "Be careful of the ones on patrol, they're going to here the explosions and come running so get to the jet ski's and boats as fast as you can."

Again he nodded and i raise my right arm up, I looked it over until i found what i wanted and put my finger on it then i looked back at those before me "Be ready this is going to be loud." I told them.

"What? Chad what are you going to do?!" Serinity asked me.

"I'm going to get the Sorcerymons mate out of the tower and bring her out but I want you to get out of here with the others." I told her.

She seemed to fight with this but said nothing so I turned back to my arm and started to count down, "Alright setting off explosives in three, two, one, NOW!"

As i said this I hit the button on my arm and heard five explosions rock the outside courtyard followed by screams, I opened the doors and started to usher the Anthro's outside before I did anything else.

I gave Ka'Na to Kate as she hurried by, "Kate take your friend and Take care of Serinity for me" I told her.

This made her stop and look at me, "What are you going to do shifter?!" she asked.

"I'm going to end this." I said.

With that I pushed her through the door and into the smoke filled courtyard as a flash of light shot out from what i assumed to be the Sorcerymon, "Go and take care of Serinity!"

She hurried off through the smoke and vanished from sight then I turned and ran towards the human, I started searching his pockets for the key the digimon had told me about but found nothing so I reached for his shirt collar.

Just as i was about to touch it The human Serph's hand shot up and grabbed me by the wrist surprising me enough to make me jerk back but his hold on my arm was strong.

I felt that cold chill and blood lust start seeping from his body as he slowly lifted his head and looked at me with that manic smile on his face.

"Hehehehehe....didn't anyone ever teach you that you shouldn't take things that don't belong to you shifter?" he said in a cold voice.

I felt another shiver run up my spine as i made eye contact, his eyes had change from those hollow human eye to yellow slited ones and their was something different about him.

"Did you really think that your little plan was going to go off without a hitch? I've known about it since your little bitch cooked the damned thing up." he said.

"Then why did you let us go through with it?" I asked him.

His grin got wider as he stood up and looked me in the eye, "Because I like to watch your pitiful kind struggle in futility." he replied.

"But you....you interest me shifter....I heard what you said on the docks and I wanted to see if it was true.....and to my great pleasure i find that it is hahahaha!"

"Tch, so that whole fight was a set up..." I said as I glared at him.

"Oh yes shifter and you gave me a glorious show." he suddenly narrowed is eyes at me, "I dare say you have as much of a killer instinct as I do."

Suddenly he burst into hysterical laughter and threw his head back, I wretched my hand from his grasp and jumped back from him to get some distance between us.

"Your insane human....I'm nothing like you."

He stopped cackling at me and looked me in the eyes again, "Oh but you are.....I saw it in your eyes shifter, you enjoyed killing those digimon more than you want to admit....."

I felt a shudder run through my body as he said this, "No...no I didn't....I don't enjoy killing others..." I said as I shook my head.

This made the human smile again and I felt another shiver run up my spine at the site, "Don't try to deny it shifter....I know that killer instinct and that lust for blood and death, it pours out of your very body even as we speak."

I looked at him in disbelief as he continued to smile at me, "No....your wrong human....that's not me.....it's not me and it never will be."

I felt another wave of bloodlust hit me and the thing in my mind began to stir again, "Yes it is shifter....I saw it in your eyes, why do you deny what you are?!"

He threw his arms wide as if showing me what was his and spoke again, "Join me shifter, I can make it were you can kill and slaughter and rape as much as you want!" he declared.

"All you have to do is give in to my power and pledge to serve me and I will let you slaughter to your black hearts content"

I cold feel the bloodlust coming off the human calling out to the darkness in me and I felt it stir more responding to the promise of death, "No...I won't be like you....your nothing but a murderer and a tyrant, I have no desire to be like you!"

"Haaaahahahahaha, that's funny shifter if you have no desire to be like me then why can I see that bloodlust coming to life in your eyes?" he asked me.

It was my turn to smile, "Because I still have to kill you for saying what you said to the female"

This seemed to catch him off guard but after a second he laughed at me, "You're going to kill me because I said that to your female? That's ridicules!"

I shrugged my shoulders at him and smirked, "Maybe so but I'm still going to do it regardless of the fact."

Serph began walking slowly towards me, "Why are you doing this shifter, why do you deny yourself the pleasure of the kill....the taste of innocent screams as they slowly die away, the pleasure of a kill's deaththrows as their life fades away in your hands?"

"Because I take no pleasure in killing....it's not me"

"But your wrong shifter it is you I saw it in your eyes and I can see it even know welling up inside of you, you want to slaughter and kill, you like the sound of your victims screams like when you killed Vincent"

"You have so much potential.....why do you let it go to waste like this?!"

Now he was slowly circling me as he talked and the things he was saying were starting to piss me off, "Join me shifter you know you want to, why not give in and let me help you release the darkness in your mind...it would be so glorious."

"The power it would give you is beyond anything you could imagine"

There was something strange in his voice as he spoke and I could feel my anger fading, "Yes that's it shifter, let me help you reach your full potential, let me help you release the monster that you are"

I could feel the darkness in me creeping out of my mind slowly as if eating away it me but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to crush it down.

"Yes that's it, let it out, let your true self out so I can show it the true joy of murder"

Suddenly an image flashed threw my mind of a terrified face covered in blood, I flinched back from the image trying to get away from it but it stayed with me.

"No.....that's not me, it's not and I'll never let it be!"

"Don't deny it little one, you know that it is, if you pledge to serve me then I can give you anything you want, anything at all....even Kate.." he said with a grin.

This made my laugh sharply, "HA!, what could I possibly want with that mangy feline, I just met her yesterday and the only reason I'm helping her is because of the female if I had any other reason to be here I would have killed you and your little group before now"

This made the smirk that was on Serph's face grow a little, "I don't mean the Anthro shifter" he said slowly.

"Chad?"

I felt my body stiffen in shock as the familiar voice said my name softly, "Is that really you?"

I shook my head in disbelief not even daring to turn, "No it....it can't be...it's not possible.....it can't be!"

I slowly turned my head and saw a shadowed figure standing in the stairwell, it had large cat like ears sticking out of it's head and short hair that came down to its jaw line and stood about 4'3.

"No it's not possible....you can't be her, it can't be possible you....you died that night."

"No she didn't shifter, I found her laying on the ground bloody and broken and took pity on her she is very much alive and I will give her to you, I can let you be with your friend again"

Slowly the figure stepped out of the shadows and into the light of the Main hall, Her face was the same and she had a scar over one closed eye and the other was a deep violet. She smiled at me slowly as she spoke.

"It really is you isn't it Chad, Serph told me that you would come back to me." I saw a tear slip from here good eye and heard a small quiver in her voice when she spoke again "I'm so happy your ok."

"I can give her back to you shifter all you have to do is pledge your loyalty to me and let out the beast within you and she can be yours."

I closed my eyes and shook my head hard trying to shake the image away but when i opened them again she was standing only a few feet away smiling at me, "Kate? is....is that really you?" I asked as I felt to my knees.

She nodded slowly and i saw her lower lips quiver then she bolted forward and threw her arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around her waist and held her tightly as tears began rolling down my face, "But how....I thought he killed you" I said softly.

The Nekomon nuzzled her cheek into mine as she spoke, "No Chad Serph saved me after he beat me and left me for dead for helping you escape."

I couldn't believe this was happening to me, it was almost a dream come true to see her again.

"That's right shifter I did save her, I knew that you would show up eventually and you did, all you have to do know is say you'll follow me and I'll let you have her".

"Diamond Storm!"

Suddenly a deafening explosion went off a few feet away from me so i pulled back and looked around and saw Serinity running towards me with a worried look on her face.

"Chad are you ok?" she asked.

I turned back to look at Kate but instead of seeing her in my arms I found I was holding an unconscious female Sorcerymon, *Not real?!*

"It was all an illusion?!" I asked as I looked down at her.

I turned my gaze back to the human who now had a large grin on his face and was looking at me from the other side of a shallow crater, "That's right shifter it was an illusion, a way to buy time until your bitch got here so I can let her watch you fade away and the true you come forth."

I heard Serinity walk up behind me and felt her hand on my shoulder, "Chad we need to end this now before the other humans come to see what's wrong"

"Oh, but your not going anywhere bitch" I heard the doors leading to the courtyard slam shut behind us with a loud boom.

"You see after i saw that little spectacle of his I decided that I want the shifter for myself, but if you play nicely then I just might let him keep you as a pet" I heard him say.

"I can give him anything he wants female; I can give him anything his heart desires even if it is fake for him it can be as real as he wants it to be"

"Chad please get up and end this so we can leave!"

I shook myself out of the strange state of mind and felt my anger rise as i got up off the floor glaring at the human but this time i didn't even try to stop it, "No Serinity it wouldn't do any good if we killed this human."

"What are you talking about?"

"What I'm saying woman is that this human isn't the one doing all of these things."

"You mean he's a puppet?!"

"No it's more like he's a car, a very shitty car but still that's the idea."

This made Serph laugh, "What are you talking about shifter, I am the one doing this so yo-"

"Cut the crap you son-of-a-bitch! Do you really think I'd be too stupid to notice it?!" I said cutting him off.

This made his grin drop off his face as he looked at me, "You may think your smart but you left some big clues, the chill in the air whenever you were around, the way you control people and wiping their memories, not to mention the crest that you've so blatantly plastered all over the castle banners, did you really think I wouldn't figure it out?!"

"Hehehe, so you found me out shifter big deal, as long as these fools think I'm a human and I keep giving them their fun I can go one like this forever not only that but I get to kill as much as I want and when this area is finished I'll kill these pathetic fool and start all over somewhere else!" he said while giving me that sick smile of his "....that's the great thing about the ring shifter no matter where I go in this place I can always find someplace to start it all over again"

"Your pathetic Serph, you've sunk so low that you have to hide yourself inside a human you hijacked just so people wouldn't know who you really are, so why don't you come out and show yourself and at least show me that you have some back bone."

"Chad what are you talking about?" Serinity asked me.

"It's really simple Serinity but I never thought I'd actually run into such a cowardly digimon, you see some digimon have found a way to hide inside the minds of humans and take control of them the only thing is that when they do this it takes a toll on the human they hijack, in the end the digimon ends up killing it's host before to long and it has to find another one" i explained to her as i glared at the human.

"Isn't that right? How many times have you done this digimon? How many times have you ripped others from their pathetic lives and families so you could parade them around like some cheap Halloween costume huh?" I asked.

This got a grin out of the human as he spoke, "To date shifter?....I think this one makes thirty-four but I've done this so many times now that it's hard to keep track any more".

"Pathetic digimon.....that's really pathetic, from what i can tell you seem to be quiet strong but you've chosen to hide yourself away from everyone and take refuge in the mind of a human, what are you hiding from digimon....what is it that could drive something as powerful as you to hide yourself in the mind of some weak human?" I asked.

This seemed to strike a nerve with the digimon because his smile dropped from his face and I saw anger flare in his eyes as he looked at me "I hide from nothing shifter, there isn't a thing alive that could hurt me! The only thing I'm doing is giving these humans what they want, that which they crave beyond anything else......release from their mundane lives and the freedom to kill and slaughter as they wish! I am not making them do anything that they themselves don't already yearn for somewhere deep down!" he growled at me.

All I could do was laugh at this as I spoke to him, "You really are pathetic you know that? what makes you think that your not putting your own lust for killing in their minds just so you can take them over more easily?" I shot back.

This got a quick smirk from Serph as he looked at me, "Because shifter just like you each of the humans that I posses have a deep desire to taste the suffering of others this alone is what let's me enter their minds an take over.....just like I did with you in the room when I tried to have you kill Serinity"

This made a shiver of fear shoot down my spine as I looked at him, "What are you talking about Serph? i don't remember trying anything like that!"

Again Serph smiled at me as he spoke, "That's because i wiped the memory from your mind shifter, and if this human hadn't interrupted then your bitch would be code right now and you would be mine!" he growled at me.

The mere thought of having this digimon in my mind was enough to make me sick but the fact that he had tried to make me killed Serinity was beyond anything I was willing to even allow without retribution, I could feel myself slipping into the darkness of the thing in my mind as I looked at the thing before me "It's bad enough that you soiled the memory of the only one I could ever consider a friend when I first became a shifter but now you tell me that you almost made me kill the one I was hired to protect?!, your stupidity knows no bounds digimon......and for this affront you will die at my hands" I growled at him.

This only made Serph's smile grow larger as he looked at me, "What are you going to do shifter? are you going to kill me with your power?.....hehehehe no even with everything that you can do you are nowhere near powerful enough to kill me but please don't let that stop you....please try as much as you want but no matter how hard you try shifter you will never be capable of even scratching me"

I narrowed my eyes at Serph as I replied, "You have no idea what I can really do Serph" I growled at him.

He only chuckled at this, "Oh but I do shifter....I can tell that the power you hold is nowhere near mine and even if you are able to bring it out you still won't be able to beat me".

Even as he spoke I could feel the darkness creeping further out of the depths of my mind and I heard that bone chilling voice speak to me, *Weakling.....your mind is my domain....I will suffer no one who trespasses where I rule.....I will make this pathetic fool suffer for the both of us* it said to me.

*For the first time since you showed up I think we're in full agreement but why would you help me now after everything you've done to me so far?* I thought to it.

I could hear a smirk in its voice as it replied, "I told you once weakling.....I will be free of you but I will do it in my own way and I will never allow such a pathetic creature to take what rightfully belong to me.....so this one time I will help you but after this do not think that it will happen again.* it told me.

*Then why start now? Why help me and not try and take over like every other time?* I asked.

*Because shifter you belong to me....and because of this I will take you when I see fit no sooner....and when I do I will claim the female as my prize.....but I will tell you this weakling just because I am helping you know don't think that it will be a common thing.....every time after this that you fight and use our power I will come for you....and each time will be another step closer to my taking over.....you will not escape me weakling but for now let us deal with this pathetic fool who seeks his own destruction...* the voice said to me.

I focused my attention on the still laughing thing before me and spoke again as the feeling ever so slowly creep to the front of my mind, "I will give you one more chance to come out and show yourself before I force you to Digimon, after that I'll kill your host and make you do it!" I said.

This must have struck Serph as funny because he just laughed harder and almost fell over because of it, "No shifter the only one who's going to do anything is you when I force out the real you and take control" Serph stopped and seemed to think about something before he spoke again "You know out of all the times I've done this I don't think I've ever actually taken control of a shifter.....I wonder how long your body will last when I take it for my own"

"NO!" I heard some one yell out, suddenly a black blur shot past me almost to fast for me to see and hit Serph square in the side of the head making it snap to the side at an odd angle, I soon realized that Serinity had just attacked the human before us because she did a backflip and landed a few feet in front of me facing him.

"I won't let you take him....I will see you dead before I let you take him from me!" she growled.

This struck me as an odd thing to say but I didn't have time to think about it because just then Serph reached up and pulled his head up straight as he chuckled darkly, "Stupid bitch.....I should have killed you when I had the chance....oh well I'll take care of it after I have the shifters body then I'll make him watch as I kill you" he said.

This alone was enough to make my anger flare even more and as it did the dark thing in my mind took another step closer to the fore, "You won't lay a finger on her Serph because I'm going to kill you!"

I summoned my power and stepped around to Serinity's left side as I glared at him, "Nobody is going to hurt Serinity while I'm around and I'm not going to even consider letting some pathetic digimon who can't even show his face use me to kill my charge!!!" I roared.

I forced the energy into my right hand and bent down as I punched the stone floor and called out my attack, "Dark spike torrent!" As my fist made contact with the floor I forced the energy out and watched as a black spike shot out of the ground a few inches in front of me then another appeared then three and as I watched more and more spikes shot out of the ground and raced toward Serph with frightening speed.

When the one of the spikes hit Serph it punched through his stomach and came out of his back and a split second later two more shot from the ground behind him and pierced his sides and force their way out of the other side of his body, I could see the surprise on Serph's human host as he looked down at his body then back at us.

As i looked into his eyes it almost seemed like he was happy to die because he gave a small smile as blood poured out of his mouth, Serinity and I both watched as the light faded out of the humans eyes and he slumped forward, I decided to release the human and willed the energy to vanish and when it did the body fell to the ground with a soft thud.

We waited for several seconds but nothing seemed about to happen, I was caught off guard when I felt Serinity take my hand and start pulling me towards the door but I didn't fight her as she pulled me along, "It seems that he was all talk....come Chad lets get out of here while we still have the chance to do so".

She was just starting to reach for the door handle when i heard the sound of guns being cocked and leveled and on instinct I grabbed her and jumped to the side just as a hail of bullets slammed into the door where we had been standing.

I landed by a stone support pillar and took cover as I pulled Serinity tight to me, a second later the roar of guns could be heard as bullets slammed into the other side of the pillar and bit off chunks of stone and sent them flying away from us.

"Damn looks like the humans woke up faster than I thought they would." I said as I peeked around the pillar to look, when I did this I noticed something strange about the ones who were holding the guns, they were slowly shuffling closer but their movements were jerky and clumsy like they were puppets being controlled by some child, I quickly jerked back just as another hail of bullets erupted and started taking chunks out of the pillar.

"Hehehehehehe, did you really think it was going to be that easy shifter?"

I was about to say something smartassed but before I could I saw something small fly past and hit the wall in front of us giving off a small ping then it hit the floor with a few tinks and rolled to a stop at our feet, I looked down and quickly realized I was staring at a grenade and the only thing I was able to think and say was. "Ah shit...."
