Time Beats. Hearts tick. - medium poem
I was pleasantly surprised about how this poem turned out. This marks a big, positive change in my writing.
This was written after I listened to Underground by David Bowie during my senior year of high school. It was published by Poetic Power, a contest for students k-12, in 2015. This is my 3rd and final poem published by them.

Does forever occur in a heartbeat?
The heart beats time and time again.
Does forever die with the heart?
Does the heart die at forever?
Can time feel the heart's pulse?
The heart feels every moment in time.
For every time we see each other
It's as if the heart controls the time.
Forever seems to fall, away into the future.
Let our hearts keep beating
Together with this clock.
Tick tock. Tick tock.
Why does time make noise?
Does the heart hear the time?
Will forever have a sound?
Will the heart feel it, hear it, know it?
Thum thump. Thum thump.
Can time hear the heart beating?
Does it know when the heart is yearning?
Why does the heart yearn?
Does it yearn for the time?
Does it yearn for another?
Now the time is fading.
Our hearts slow together.
