Prehistoric Passion - short poem
I am actually incredibly proud of this poem. It's been my favorite poem.
This poem was written about my future career as a paleontologist and what I see in this career. I wrote this poem while I was sitting in a really boring senior day event in high school. It was published by Poetic Power, a contest for students k-12, in 2015. This is poem 2 out of 3 published by them.

Beneath the surface of the Earth
Within the geosphere
The remains of another world
Awaiting discovery in its million year slumber.
The thrill, mystery, and satisfaction
Of unearthing, discovering, awakening the new bones.
This fascinating sport takes place in foreign lands
With strange plants, microbes, and animals hidden in the rocks.
The world of dinosaurs.
The world of paleontology.
My passion, joy, and life.
