Chapter 3 Playing in the Pridelands
Back in the Pridelands
As me ,Zira and Simba were gone to see the Zulu tribes, Simba had left his mum in charge of the Pridelands since Shingi was pregnant at the time. While Sarabi and Nuka were off hunting with the other Lioness leaving Shingi,Ni ,Nala and Sarafina to look after the cubs of mine and Nala's. Makhosazana and Nkosiphendule were playing tag with Vitani as they used Sarafina as home. At the moment Vitani was it and she was chasing her 2 friends around the grown up lions.
†Ha Ha cant catch us Tani. †both of the younger cubs giggles at the older cub.
†You wann bet. †Vitani laughed, as she pick up her speed and making gap closer to the younger cubs.
Both Nkosiphendule and Makhosazana screamed with laughter as they pick up the speed trying ,to get to Sarafina before they got tag by Vitani. Being born like a lion Nkosiphendule mange to get to Scarfina by running on 4 paws much quicker than his sister was, since she was running on 2 legs . As he climbed over and on top of Sarafina head watching his sister getting gain on by Vitani.
Makhosazana was running at full speed her feet could caring her,and she only need to get few more meters to cover to be safe. But she then felt a thump of weight jump on her back causing her to crash to the ground with a thump, but she let out cry of pain for another reason.
As she went to see what was hurting she saw a long claw mark on her skin ,which wasn't that deep but it still hurt and made Makhosazana to cry in pain from it. As blood started to leaking from the open wound., Vitani saw it first as started to cry as well she didn't mean to hurt her friend like that.
†Makhosazana im sorry I didn't mean to hurt you im sorry .†Vitani said to her friend nuzzling her .
†Vitani what happen ? .â€Sarafina asked the female cub looking down, gasping seeing the cut on Makhosazana arm
She then look at Vitani ,as well who was crying knowing it was an accident .
†We were playing add I caught her ,but claw scape her skin I didn't meant to hurt her im sorry .†Vitani tried to say in sobs, looking at the adult lioness thinking she would be punished for it.
†Shh it ok I know it was an accident , you need to be more careful though there still younger than you and not used to rough play yet ok. â€Sarafina told Vitani reassuring it was ok.
Vitani had stop crying and nodded her head, as they walk over to Makhosazana who still sniffing saying it was hurting. Sarafina then pulled the female cub into her paws as she, begin to clean the cut with her tongue while she sang a lullaby to Makhosazana to clam her down.
†Hush little cub don't be sad , Ahadi is watching over you,
to see you become a beautiful lioness,
so hush little cub don't be sad im here for you always.†Sarafina finished with her small lullaby to her grand cub, how know was fast sleep in her paws.
Sarafina smiled as she finished cleaning Makhosazana wound it now had stop bleeding ,and it didn't looked like to be infected. After Vitani knew that Makhosazana was ok , she then pounced Nkosiphendule as they played fight with each other but more careful.
†Wasn't that one of the Lullaby, you sang to me mum when I was a cub mum .†Nala asked her mother, as she had finished abusing her father and had came over to see if her cub was ok.
†yes it was Nala. †Sarafina said to her oldest daughter nuzzling her in greeting to her.
Nala purred as she nuzzled her mother back as, she look back at her cub with worry at her mother.
†Is Makhosazana ok mum.†Nala asked her mother licking her cub furlesss head , while looking at her mother with worry.
†Yes just scratch darling it was only an accident ,from Vitani don't worry she ok. †Sarafina reassuring her oldest cub.
Nala just smiled with a sigh she sat by her mum watching over her cub with her, Nala was very protective of Makhosazana for the main reason because of her difference compare to any other cub. Nala worried as well as I did that she could get bully, by the animals as well as other cub or adult lions. Also because she had no fur like her mum and more like me, she was lest protected from cut or bites compare to her brother. Though Nala and I loved our cubs as equals, as Nala was going to take an nap she herd a yelp of discomfit come from her dad.
Nala and Sarafina laughs at poor Ni who was being chewed on by his daughter Shingi. Who was chewing on his ear while both Vitani and Nkosiphendule had join in the fun of abusing Ni ,by playing tug of war with it much to Ni annoyance.
†Girls can you help pleases .†Ni begged his mate and daughter who just giggle at him.
†Um no. †Both of the said laughing together making poor Ni grumble.
As this was going on Makhosazana open her eyes letting out a mew to get there attention , as Nala look were her daughter was mewing at. She smiled seeing Nuka and Sarabi were returning with 2 large wildebeest on a few of the lioness backs to make it easer to carry back to Pride rock.
†Well guys time for dinner .†Nala said to everyone licking her lips as she pick up Makhosazana from her mother, as the all head back to Pride rock to eat.
